War for the Lanes — the persistent layer

The practical vision: a persistent shared front where the Pact (The-Pyre and The-Wardens) fights the Scourge over a live map of lanes, holdouts, orbit, and breaches — and where playing the small games shifts the front.

The current playable expression is Warline: a strategy-lite campaign layer with shared resources, simple commands, and one operation contract per game. It is a prototype, not a locked grand-strategy rulebook. Outcomes in Warline can move the test front without automatically rewriting Timeline or authored Location canon.

Path (realistic, vibe-codeable)

  1. Ship playable prototypes for the operation games: Scourge-Survivors, Deadlane, Pactfall, Brawl, Starblight, Redline, and Rothulk.
  2. Use Warline to test whether those games feel stronger when their runs feed a shared war map: resources, pressure, region control, breach intensity, and a war feed.
  3. If the campaign layer proves fun, deepen it into a real strategy game: better resource sinks, clearer faction decisions, more interesting operation targets, and slower front movement.
  4. A Dofus-like server — persistent, instanced, isometric/tactical (see the isometric-3d genre) — is the far horizon once the metagame proves out.

Why it fits

The universe already has lanes, breaches, holdouts, orbit, no-man’s-land pockets, and asymmetric doctrines. Warline turns that structure into a testable verb: run an operation, earn resources, spend them on the front, watch the pressure move.

This keeps the big MMO/RTS door open without forcing every prototype to carry grand-strategy weight before the arcade loops are good.
